King Juan Carlos I of Spain and Queen Sofia will visit Japan for six days beginning Nov. 9 as state guests of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, the Foreign Ministry said Friday. It will be the Spanish royal couple's seventh trip to Japan and their first in 10 years since an unofficial visit in February 1998 to attend the Nagano Winter Olympics.
